Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 27, 2009 — omNovia Technologies, Inc. announced that its web conference platform is compatible with the newly released browser Microsoft™ Internet Explorer 8 (IE8). Presenters and attendees will continue to utilize all features of the omNovia Web Conference in the new Microsoft browser without the need for any upgrades.

Shawn Shadfar, Chief Executive Officer at omNovia, said that "Since the launch of Internet Explorer 8, many users from other web conferencing providers have had compatibility problems with Microsoft IE 8. By design, omNovia Web Conference does not have this problem. We continue with our commitment to provide a 100% browser based web conferencing solution regardless of the type of internet browser or operating system".

Microsoft IE8 is expected to be the default browser for the upcoming Microsoft™ Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems. The browser which had been in development since March 2006, was officially released on March 19, 2009 for Microsoft™ Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.

While consumers now enjoy more reliable and faster web browsers, compatibility concerns seem to increase. Jon Najarian (Dr.J), co-founder of the optionMonster and CNBC's Fast Money panelist, said that "We regularly host large scale online meetings with worldwide participants using the omNovia Web Conference. It is a real peace of mind for us to know that our attendees can access our webinars with any Internet browser".

Web conferencing, conducting live collaborative meetings and presentations via the internet, can either run in a downloaded application on an attendee's computer or through a web-based application where the attendee simply enters a URL (web address) to access the conference.
